The task of this introductory workshop class was to produce a magnified modell of an everyday item, in this case a lighter in the scale 5:1.

In teams of two, we learned to work with machines and different materials, including wood, aluminium and cibatool.

As a follow up, we had to further develop and improvew our chosen object.

Inspired by early oil lighters, we tried to find a more ergonomic shape, that allows for reaching into confined spaces like candles or large restaurant tables.

Additionally we incorporated a function, to turn off a candle through compressed air with less danger of spilled wax. This is achieved through a compressing bag in the back of the handle.
